Complaint seeking adjudication by the Workplace Relations Commission under the Industrial Relations Acts | CA-00011825-001 | 10/06/2017 |
Date of Adjudication Hearing: 13/10/2017
Workplace Relations Commission Adjudication Officer: Louise Boyle
Procedure:
In accordance with Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts 1969 following the referral of the dispute to me by the Director General, I inquired into the dispute and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard by me and to present to me any evidence relevant to the dispute.
Background:
The complainant was dismissed and believed it was unjust. |
Summary of Worker’s Case:
The worker did not attend. In his claim form he details that he commenced employment on 3rd May 2017 and his employment ceased on 9th June 2017 owing to what the employer said was poor timekeeping and that he was not given an opportunity to give his version of events and denied that there was poor timekeeping. |
Summary of Employer’s Case:
The employer did not attend. |
Findings and Conclusions:
As the worker and employer failed to attend the hearing, I confirmed that a letter had issued notifying the worker and employer of the date, time and location of the hearing and find their non-attendance without any acceptable explanation to be unexplained in the circumstances, and my decision is, therefore: The claim is dismissed for want of prosecution
|
Recommendation:
Section 13 of the Industrial Relations Acts, 1969 requires that I make a recommendation in relation to the dispute.
The claim is dismissed for want of prosecution |
